Job summary

UNC Health Care in Raleigh, NC seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for its Float Pool. You will work across medical-surgical units, ICU, ED, and behavioral health settings under RN supervision, gaining diverse in-hospital experience.

The role is per diem, day shift, 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., with a minimum of three 12-hour shifts per six weeks, supporting UNC Rex Raleigh and UNC Rex Holly Springs Campus. Excellent patient care and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires NC Nursing Assistant I licensure
• BLS certification required
• Prefer six months of nursing assistant experience
• Fluent in English, basic computer skills

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and health care providers with routine examinations and procedures
• Aids in behavior modification plans/therapy in psychiatric settings and supports patients and families
• Observe, document, and report changes in patient condition to RN or physician
• Assist patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge
• Provide care including vital signs, specimen collection, wound care, ROM, and basic activities of daily living
• Provide direct personal care for daily living activities
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and stock supplies; assist in orientation of new staff
• Reinforce and document patient education per plan of care
