Job summary

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of patient care procedures and basic treatments.
• Ability to document and communicate information in medical records.
• Understanding of infection control and safety procedures.
• Flexibility to float between Duke University Hospital and affiliated Duke facilities.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist with patient mobility.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients, equipment and supplies for procedures.
• Obtain and record patient data for medical records.
• Administer basic care including feeding, bathing, dressing, and hygiene.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers, and positioning.
• Support patient comfort and safety during care and procedures.
• Document vital signs and notify RN/LPN of changes.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transport of patients.
