Job summary

UNC Rex Healthcare is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the Patient Monitoring Unit Float Pool on the night shift. This full-time role involves working across multiple hospital units, with assignments rotating between the Raleigh and Holly Springs campuses to meet patientCare needs.

You will collaborate with nurses, CNAs, sitters, and other professionals to deliver safe, high-quality care overnight.

Qualifications

• Education: None required if all other position requirements are met.
• Licensure/Certification: Nursing Assistant I per NC DHHS
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Experience: Prefer six (6) months nursing assistant experience
• Language/Skills: Fluent in English; able to develop basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, and procure equipment during emergencies.
• In psychiatric settings, aid patients in orientation and participate in behavior plans; provide de-escalation and support therapy.
• Observe, collect, and document patient information and report changes to a nurse or physician.
• Assist patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge.
• Provide care/treatments per the care plan: vital signs, wounds, glucose checks, ROM, postural drainage, and basic patient/family support.
• Provide direct personal care for activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, mobility).
• Perform indirect care: clean/stock area, transport, orient new staff, and handle routine clerical tasks.
• Reinforce routine teaching and distribute patient education materials.
