Job summary

Legends Global operates the Los Angeles Convention Center and seeks an Operations Manager to lead building engineering and maintenance under the Building Superintendent. You will manage unions, supervise engineers, and drive safety, reliability, and event readiness.

The role combines hands-on technical leadership with administrative oversight, ensuring preventive maintenance, lifecycle planning, and compliance across complex systems for day-to-day operations and high-profile events.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of progressively responsible hands-on experience as a Building Engineer or similar position.
• Experience in convention centers, arenas, hotels, or large facilities.
• Three to five years of lead or supervisory experience including union interaction.
• Ability to read plans, schematics, and equipment manuals; manage CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff and union workforce; supervise engineers and trades, conduct safety tailgate meetings, manage overtime and staffing.
• Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs; oversee MicroMain prioritization and reporting.
• Oversee building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, BAS/BMS; coordinate vendor services.
• Coordinate event engineering coverage and safety/compliance programs; enforce LOTO, PPE, and JSAs.
• Support budgets, procurement, and capital projects; ensure event readiness and reliability.
