Job summary

Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts is seeking an on-site Venue Manager to oversee corporate and social rental events at our Vienna, VA facilities for the summer season. You will serve as the primary contact for vendors and coordinate with venue staff to ensure a smooth event experience.

The role requires 2–5+ years in hospitality or event services, a high school diploma or GED, and exceptional interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college coursework or a degree in hospitality management, communications, or related field is preferred.
• 2-5+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, venue coordination, catering, event sales, or event services; a relevant college degree plus one year of applicable work experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and transferable experience.
• Previous Wolf Trap hospitality experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act as the on-site venue manager for facility rental events, including social, corporate, and special events.
• Serve as the primary on-site contact for vendors and as a liaison between clients and venue staff.
• Supervise all event activities taking place at the facilities and ensure compliance with event policies and procedures. Quickly and professionally resolve issues, safety concerns, and emergencies as they arise.
• Manage facility needs during rental and internal events, including audiovisual (AV) equipment, power, maintenance, minor cleaning, and restocking.
• Maintain strong working relationships with approved catering partners and external vendors.
• Foster excellent relationships with internal stakeholders, including the Foundation's Special Events Team, Rentals Team, Hospitality Operations Team, and Culinary/Catering Team.
• Open, close, and secure the venue, ensuring vendors are checked in and out in accordance with event plans and operational procedures.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

Qualifications: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or GED required; college coursework or a degree in hospitality management, communications, or related field is preferred.
• 2-5+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, venue coordination, catering, event sales, or event services; a relevant college degree plus one year of applicable work experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and transferable experience.
• Previous Wolf Trap hospitality experience desirable.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time

• Must be able to perform job duties in high temperatures and humid weather conditions for prolonged periods.
