Job summary

Portland Sports Complex, part of The Sports Facilities Companies family, seeks a General Manager to drive financial and operational performance. You will lead cross‑functional teams, manage multi‑million budgets, and ensure premier event operations in a dynamic sports and entertainment venue in Portland, TX.

You will partner with stakeholders, direct HR and policies, and oversee food & beverage, events, and facility management to deliver exceptional guest experiences and community impact.

Qualifications

• P&L ownership of $2M+ annual budget.
• Experience booking and operating sports tournaments and events.
• Understanding of food & beverage operations for venues.
• Facility management concepts and venue operations knowledge.
• Experience with convention/visitor bureaus or regional event booking.
• 7+ years of management experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze operations to improve performance and reduce costs.
• Appoint department heads and delegate responsibilities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and corporate support to implement improvements.
• Develop and monitor budgetary control systems and records.
• Direct financial and budget activities to fund operations and maximize ROI.
• Lead HR activities including staffing and departmental organization.
• Develop and implement policies to ensure sustainable operations.
• Prepare reports on budgets, expenses and statutory matters.
• Represent the organization at official functions and with external partners.
• Oversee site location selection, equipment, and supply provisioning.
• Coordinate production, pricing, sales, and distribution activities.
