Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking a mid-level associate to join its corporate group, focusing on emerging growth companies and the institutional investors that support them.

The ideal candidate will have at least four years’ experience representing both institutional investors and issuers in venture capital financings, as well as experience with M&A transactions and advising emerging growth companies on day-to-day corporate matters.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and admission to practice.
• Strong written and verbal communication and legal research skills.
• Ability to analyze complex corporate matters and provide clear guidance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough legal research to support transaction strategy.
• Draft briefs, motions, contracts, and correspondence with high quality.
• Manage a variety of complex transactions from inception to closing.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships with internal and external teams.
• Collaborate with lawyers and professionals to develop strategy.
• Attend hearings, depositions, negotiations and trials as needed.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and firm policies.
• Pursue ongoing training and development to enhance practice capabilities.
• Engage in firm programs and pro bono initiatives when possible.
