Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking a mid-level corporate associate to join its Boston office, focusing on emerging growth companies and the investors backing them. The ideal candidate has at least three years’ experience in venture capital financings, M&A, and day-to-day corporate matters for growth companies.

Qualifications

• JD and bar admission in the state of practice.
• At least 3 years of Emerging Growth/Venture Capital experience.
• Experience representing issuers and institutional investors in VC financings.
• Experience with M&A and advising emerging growth companies on corporate matters.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research to support transaction preparation and strategy.
• Draft legal documents including briefs, contracts, and correspondence.
• Manage complex transactions from inception to closing.
• Interact with internal and external clients professionally and promptly.
• Collaborate with partners to develop strategies for transactions.
• Attend hearings, depositions, negotiations, and trials as needed.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and firm citizenship initiatives.
