Job summary

Live Oak Bank is seeking an Associate Director, Venture Banking to source new client opportunities, win opportunities, onboard relationships, and own them through loan closing and onboarding under the direction of the Managing Director.

The role requires underwriting experience in venture banking, knowledge of lending policies, and strong relationship management. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to service clients and expand opportunities with VC firms and their portfolio companies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience underwriting and servicing venture banking type credits.
• In-depth knowledge of Bank lending policies, procedures, and criteria.
• High degree of self-motivation, dedication, creativity, and perseverance.
• A minimum of 2 years Venture Banking/VC industry-specific experience.
• Additional team and portfolio management experience.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong financial analysis and modeling skills.
• Sound judgment.
• Strong computer skills, including Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Source and win new client opportunities for the VM Banking team, onboard new relationships, and manage them post-loan closing.
• Oversee loan underwriting and origination and maintain knowledge of the venture capital ecosystem.
• Present and negotiate term sheets with prospects and cross-sell across the bank's deposit and treasury platforms.
• Own the client relationship across the life cycle and serve as primary contact post-closing.
• Support portfolio management through regular updates and investor calls and identify opportunities to expand relationships.
