Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support to deliver specialized respiratory care to ventilator-dependent patients in home and alternate care settings. This role blends hands-on patient care, education, and collaboration with physicians to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes outside the hospital.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate degree in respiratory therapy, a valid license, and strong clinical assessment and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program.
• One (1) year of clinical experience as a Nurse with ventilator exposure, Healthcare Respiratory Therapist or HME Respiratory Therapist.
• Valid and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in all states serviced by the branch.
• CPR certification
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Maintain and apply advanced knowledge of respiratory equipment, ventilators, HME products, and related guidelines.
• Perform clinical assessments and communicate findings to physicians and referral sources.
• Participate in discharge planning for highly technical and ventilator dependent patients.
• Demonstrate and instruct patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals on ventilator units, supplies, and proper equipment use.
• Provide clinical follow up with physicians and referral sources regarding patient status and tolerance of therapy.
• Adhere to HIPAA, PPE, infection control, and hazardous materials handling requirements.
• Accurately document all patient care activities in company records.
