Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support to deliver specialized respiratory care to ventilator-dependent patients in home and alternate care settings. This field clinician role combines hands-on patient care, education, and collaboration with physicians to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes outside the hospital.

Responsibilities include assessments, discharge planning, patient instruction, and documentation, with on-call rotation and adherence to HIPAA and safety

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program.
• One year of clinical experience with ventilator exposure or as a Respiratory Therapist/HME therapist.
• Current and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in all states served by the branch.
• CPR certification.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and apply advanced knowledge of respiratory equipment, ventilators, HME products, and related guidelines.
• Perform clinical assessments and communicate findings to physicians and referral sources.
• Participate in discharge planning for ventilator-dependent patients and ensure smooth transitions home.
• Instruct patients and caregivers on ventilator units and equipment use.
• Document all patient care activities accurately in company systems.
• Collaborate with peers and interdisciplinary teams to resolve issues and optimize outcomes.
