Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support to deliver specialized respiratory care to ventilator-dependent patients in home and alternate care settings. This field clinician role combines hands-on patient care, education, and collaboration with physicians to support safe, high-quality outcomes outside the hospital.

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program.
• One year of clinical experience with ventilator exposure or as a respiratory therapist.
• Active Respiratory Therapist license in serviced states; CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and apply knowledge of respiratory equipment, ventilators, HME products, and related guidelines.
• Perform clinical assessments and communicate findings to physicians and referral sources.
• Assist in discharge planning for ventilator-dependent patients transitioning home.
• Instruct patients and caregivers on ventilator use and equipment.
• Provide clinical follow-up with physicians regarding patient status.
• Document all patient care activities accurately in patient records.
