Job summary

Halfords is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician/Mechanic to join our Canton AutoCentre team. You will service and repair vehicles, perform diagnostics and handle complex tasks such as clutch and timing belt work, in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Ideal candidates will have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and a clean driving licence, with opportunities to advance within Halfords’ expansive automotive network.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair tasks.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repair/replacement work on vehicles.
• Carry out diagnostics and more complex repairs (brakes, steering, suspension, engine).
• Work on components like clutches, timing belts and electrics as needed.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
