Job summary

Octane Recruitment is recruiting for a Vehicle Technician in London to service and repair a fleet of light and heavy commercial vehicles. You will diagnose faults, perform inspections and maintenance, and work with modern workshop equipment.

The role requires a Level 3 qualification and a Full UK Driving Licence, with a rotating shift pattern and opportunities for training and career development.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
• Previous experience as an HGV/LCV/commercial vehicle technician.
• Own tools required.
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
• Flexible to rotating shift pattern.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on a fleet of light and heavy commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using the latest diagnostic equipment.
• Complete vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Repair trailers and associated mechanical equipment.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to the highest standards.
• Use specialist workshop equipment and tooling.
• Work effectively within a busy workshop team whilst maintaining accurate job records.

Salary: £45,675 Basic | OTE £60,000+

Working Hours: 39.5 Hours per Week | Three-Week Rotating Shift Pattern | 1 in 3 Saturdays

Vehicle Technician Role

Vehicle Technician Requirements

• Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
• Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, LCV Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Own tools required.
• HGV licence and trailer experience desirable but not essential.
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
• Flexible to work a rotating shift pattern.
