Job summary

Halfords, the UK’s largest automotive service provider, is seeking a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic. You’ll service and repair vehicles, including clutches, timing belts, and diagnostics, in a role that blends technical skill with opportunity for progression.

The position offers a base salary with uncapped bonus potential and a path to ATA & MOT Tester qualifications, while enjoying generous benefits and hybrid training options.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served equivalent.
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work and complex repairs.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair/replacement work.
• Carry out clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics.
• Diagnose brakes, steering/suspension, engine and other systems; perform complex repairs.

• On-target earnings up to £39,700
• Comprising a base salary of £33,000
• An uncapped monthly bonus scheme with average additional earnings of £6,700 per year.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
