Job summary

Halfords Careers is recruiting a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic to service and repair vehicles, including diagnostics and more complex tasks such as clutch and timing belt replacements. A full UK driving licence with <=9 points is required, along with Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience.
• Must have a full driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, diagnostics and repair work incl. brake/steering/suspension and engine systems.
• Perform complex replacements such as clutches, timing belts, and electrics diagnostics.
• Ensure quality workmanship and compliance with safety standards.

• On-target earnings up to £45,000


• Comprising a base salary of £32,790 - £38,100


• An uncapped monthly bonus scheme with average additional earnings of £6,900 per year.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.
