Job summary

Ford is seeking a Software Integration Test Technician in Long Beach, CA. You will prepare prototype vehicles and test environments, flash software, and run integrated tests across vehicle electro-mechanical systems.

You will document results and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve issues, with travel to test sites as needed. The role requires hands-on experience with vehicle systems, ECUs, diagnostics, and test equipment, plus strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent in automotive tech/electronics engineering.
Hands-on experience with vehicle systems, electronics, diagnostics, or testing.
Experience with ECUs and software deployment/flashing.
Familiarity with CAN/LIN/Ethernet networks.
Strong troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, and software interfaces.
Ability to follow test procedures and document findings clearly.
Effective communication and ability to work with engineering teams.
Willingness to travel to test sites and facilities.

Responsibilities

Prepare prototype vehicles, lab benches, HIL systems, and test equipment for software integration and testing.
Flash software, calibrate modules, configure components, and install instrumentation.
Execute vehicle-level integration, functional, regression, and system tests; help develop repeatable procedures.
Monitor vehicle behavior, analyze diagnostics, logs, and network data.
Reproduce and troubleshoot integration issues; share findings with engineering teams.
Record test results, configurations, software versions, and defects in systems.
Support defect tracking, fleet readiness, and maintenance of test assets.
Coordinate testing with engineering teams and off-site facilities as needed.
Follow safety practices, procedures, and configuration-management requirements.
