Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) in Superior Township, MI seeks a Vehicle Safety Regulatory Engineer to join the Regulation & Certification Team. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with FMVSS, state regulations, and local standards while coordinating with NHTSA and FCC among others.

Responsibilities include regulatory reviews, tests, audits, hoc investigations, and cross-functional collaboration to support safety compliance and vehicle homologation efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other analytical/technical fields.
• Pre-law, law, or public policy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review vehicle regulations and test procedures (FMVSS, state, territories) from government entities for product applicability and draft clear conclusions.
• Represent the company during safety compliance or consumer information tests; investigate issues and propose solutions.
• Perform visual compliance audits on new products.
• Support vehicle homologation and self-certification efforts.
• Execute trend analysis and benchmarking.
• Prepare reports and responses to inquiries promptly.
• Engage in cross-functional activities to support compliance efforts.
• Perform administrative functions such as purchasing and travel requests.
• Perform additional functions related to motor vehicle safety regulations and technologies.
