Job summary

Carvana is seeking a Reconditioning Manager to oversee a Carvana Inspection Center, directing 5+ leads and up to 70 frontline associates in a lean manufacturing setting. The role focuses on quality, production, cost objectives and a culture of continuous improvement.

The position requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and a track record of delivering project metrics in automotive or lean environments. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• 5 years of management experience in automotive or lean manufacturing.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience leading and developing associates.
• Proven ability to obtain project deliverables and company metrics.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record in the last 3 years.
• Ability to maintain high volume and high-quality content in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work with and through teams to achieve results
• Strong analysis and decision making ability.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Ability to work overtime and on weekends.
• Requires standing for extended periods and PPE use as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations within the Inspection Center.
• Provide mentoring and accountability to direct reports and succession planning through coaching and training.
• Participate in development and execution of strategic plans aligning with the company.
• Ensure adherence to operating standards, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
• Create a work environment that inspires communication, team cohesion, and adherence to values.
• Maintain supervisory staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
• Ensure progression path training and certification processes are executed.
• Train and mentor leads and associates with competency-based feedback.
• Ensure adequate production capacity levels for each line and assist with production planning.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and loss prevention guidelines.
• Provide vision and guidance to the reconditioning team in meeting performance metrics.
• Positively reinforce and engage the team regarding quality, production and cost objectives.
• Lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
