Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a team-oriented individual to enter accurate vehicle data at the auction facility. You will use AS400 and handheld terminals, tag vehicles, and ensure proper labeling and safe handling throughout the check-in process.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to multitask, and a willingness to stand or walk for long periods. Physical duties include lifting up to 30 lbs and occasional bending or kneeling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Generally, less than 2 years of experience.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Input vehicle information into AS400 using handheld device or relay data to co-worker for data entry on each vehicle.
• Affix barcode/stock number stickers on vehicles.
• Place work order numbers and routing labels on vehicles upon entry.
• Flag 'no key' cars and direct transporters to drop zones.
• Report transport damage as needed and take vehicle photos upon receipt.
• Provide sale identification windshield code to vehicle driver during check-in.
• Demonstrate safety with adherence to safety procedures and cooperate with safety leadership.
• Assist on sale days driving vehicles through Auction lanes as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor; may stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb as required.

Input accurate vehicle information into the AS400 computer using a handheld computer (Portable Terminal - PT) or provide information via headset to co-worker for data entry for each vehicle received at the Auction including: Vehicle Identification number (VIN) Stock number Dealer identification number Make, model, year, mileage, color, options, etc. Affix barcode/stock number sticker on each vehicle received. Place work order numbers and routing labels on vehicles upon entry. Flag "no key" cars. Direct transporters to proper car drop zone. Report transport damage as needed. Take digital image of vehicle upon receipt. Provide proper sale identification windshield code to the person who is driving vehicle through the registration/check-in area. Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such. Work in cooperation with safety leadership in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence. • Strong technical understanding, with good organizational skills needed.
• Ability to multitask, follow directions and take instruction.
• Advanced computer skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for prolonged periods of time; ability to bend, stoop, squat or kneel; ability to lift and hold at least 10lbs at waist level for an extended period of-time; ability to lift-up to 30 lbs.

USD 15.10 - 22.69 per hour

Compensation:

Hourly pay rate is in the range of $15.10 - $22.69/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Benefits:

Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
