Job summary

Cox Automotive Inc. is seeking a detail‑oriented Auction Vehicle Processor in Massachusetts to input vehicle data into the AS400 system using a handheld terminal or relay information to a coworker for data entry on each vehicle received at the Auction.

You will affix barcodes, place work orders, guide transporters to drop zones, take vehicle photos, and ensure windshield codes at registration, with a strong emphasis on safety and collaboration with safety leadership.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED preferred, OR less than 2 years of related work experience.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.
  • Ability to lift 1-15 pounds.
  • Vision abilities include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Input accurate vehicle information into the AS400 computer using a handheld terminal or relay data via headset for each vehicle received at the Auction.
  • Affix barcode/stock number sticker on each vehicle received.
  • Place work order numbers and routing labels on vehicles; flag 'no key' cars.
  • Direct transporters to proper car drop zone and report transport damage as needed.
  • Take digital image of vehicle upon receipt.
  • Provide proper sale identification windshield code to the driver at registration/check-in.
  • Follow safety and health procedures and model safety behaviors.
  • Work with safety leadership in Safety Excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, e.g., assist on sale days.

Job description

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday (12pm-8:30pm)

Job Responsibilities
  • Input accurate vehicle information into the AS400 computer using a handheld computer (Portable Terminal - PT) or provide information via headset to co-worker for data entry for each vehicle received at the Auction including:
    • Vehicle Identification number (VIN)
    • Stock number.
    • Dealer identification number
    • Make, model, year, mileage, color, options, etc.
  • Affix barcode/stock number sticker on each vehicle received.
  • Place work order numbers and routing labels on vehicles upon entry. Flag "no key" cars.
  • Direct transporters to proper car drop zone. Report transport damage as needed.
  • Take digital image of vehicle upon receipt.
  • Provide proper sale identification windshield code to the person who is driving vehicle through the registration/check‑in area.
  • Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such.
  • Work in cooperation with safety leadership in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, i.e. assist on sale days driving vehicles through Auction sales lanes, etc.
Qualifications

Preferred
  • 1-3 years of auction and/or vehicle registration experience preferred.
Work Environment
  • Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Moderate noise level.

USD 16.63 - 24.90 per hour

Compensation

Hourly pay rate is in the range of $16.63 - $24.90/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Benefits
  • Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
  • Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
