Job summary

Cox Automotive in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking a detail-oriented associate to process incoming vehicles for auction. You will input VIN, stock numbers, dealer IDs, make, model, year, mileage, color and options into the AS400 using a handheld device, and affix barcode stickers on each vehicle.

You will also install Tracker devices, assign WO numbers, direct transporters, take digital vehicle photos, and ensure proper sale identification during check-in. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 - 3 years of auction and/or vehicle registration experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record required.
• Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Input accurate vehicle information into the AS400 using a handheld device for each vehicle received at the Auction including VIN, stock number, dealer ID, make, model, year, mileage and options.
• Affix barcode/stock number sticker on each vehicle received.
• Associate Tracker device to WO# and install on the OBD port or strap around the steering wheel.
• Place work order numbers and routing labels on vehicles; flag 'no key' cars.
• Direct transporters to proper car drop zone and report transport damage as needed.
• Take digital images of vehicles upon receipt.
• Provide proper sale identification windshield code to the person driving the vehicle through registration/check-in area.
• Follow safety and health procedures and support Safety Excellence initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, e.g. assist on sale days driving vehicles through Auction lanes.

• Affix barcode/stock number sticker on each vehicle received.
• Associate Tracker device to WO# and install on OBD port or strap 2nd generation tracker around steering wheel.
• Place work order numbers and routing labels on vehicles upon entry. Flag "no key" cars.
• Direct transporters to proper car drop zone. Report transport damage as needed.
• Take digital image of vehicle upon receipt.
• Provide proper sale identification windshield code to the person who is driving vehicle through the registration/check-in area.
• Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such.
• Work in cooperation with safety leadership in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, i.e. assist on sale days driving vehicles through Auction sales lanes, etc.

USD 18.17 - 27.21 per hour

Compensation:

Hourly pay rate is in the range of $18.17 - $27.21/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Benefits:

Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
