Job summary

Cox Automotive Inc. is seeking an Automotive Yard Associate to input vehicle data into the AS400 system using a handheld TC-75, affix stock stickers, and apply work orders. You will identify 'no key' vehicles and direct transporters to drop zones while reporting any damages.

The role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 15 pounds. It emphasizes safety, data privacy, and basic computer skills, with weekday shifts including a Wednesday–Sunday

Responsibilities

• Input accurate vehicle information into the AS400 system using a handheld device (TC-75), including VIN, stock number, dealer ID, make, model, year, mileage, color, options.
• Affix barcode/stock number stickers to each vehicle upon arrival.
• Apply work order numbers and routing labels to vehicles.
• Identify and flag 'no key' vehicles.
• Direct transporters to designated vehicle drop zones.
• Inspect and report transport damage as required.
• Provide proper sale identification windshield codes.
• Remove and clear all personal information from vehicles and reset navigation data to protect privacy.
• Demonstrate safety commitment and support safety initiatives.
• Assist with additional operational duties, including driving vehicles through auction lanes on sale days.

Data Protection & Vehicle Preparation

• Remove and clear all personal information from vehicles, including documents, saved contacts, and identifiable items
• Reset or remove navigation system data (addresses, history, Bluetooth pairings, etc.)
• Ensure compliance with company policies regarding customer data privacy and security

Safety & Team Support

• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety by following all safety procedures and guidelines
• Support Safety Excellence initiatives and work with leadership on safety activities
• Assist with additional operational duties as assigned, including:
  • Driving vehicles through auction lanes on sale days

Qualifications

Minimum

• High School Diploma/GED
• Generally, less than 2 years' experience in a related field.
• Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required
• Basic computer skills required.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.
• Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.
• Ability to lift 1-15 pounds.
• Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Schedule

• WEDNESDAY -SUNDAY 1:30 PM-10:00 PM SHIFT

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-3 years of auction or vehicle registration experience
• Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles

USD 16.63 - 24.90 per hour

Compensation

Hourly pay rate is in the range of $16.63 - $24.90/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Benefits

Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
