Job summary

Transit Management of Alexandria (TMA) is seeking a B Mechanic to perform journeyman level repairs, maintenance and modifications on all DASH vehicles. You will diagnose with laptops, perform scheduled maintenance, and test-drive vehicles to ensure proper operation.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of vehicle maintenance experience, with DOT knowledge and strong troubleshooting skills. Second/third shift hours apply.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of vehicle maintenance or mechanic experience.
• Knowledge of DOT requirements and safety standards.
• Ability to read manuals and wiring schematics.
• Proficiency with vehicle maintenance management software and diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance inspections on all DASH vehicles.
• Diagnoses and repairs unscheduled vehicle issues.
• Orders parts and opens work-orders for repairs.
• Test drives vehicles to verify repairs.
• Follows OEM procedures and works independently.
• Reads repair manuals and wiring schematics.
• Maintains clean, organized work area and uses various tools.
• Performs road/service calls and related duties.
