Job summary

Alexandria Transit Company (DASH) is seeking an apprentice-level C Mechanic to perform basic repairs and routine maintenance on all fleet vehicles. You will use service manuals, diagnose systems, and support A/B mechanics and the Shop Supervisor.

Expect second shift (2:30pm–11:00pm) or third shift (10:30pm–7am) with compensation at $29.09 per hour. Minimum one year of vehicle maintenance experience and a high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of vehicle maintenance or mechanic experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic repairs and maintenance on all DASH vehicles and equipment as required.
• Performs Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMI) and inspects equipment for any necessary repairs, and performs basic tire work such as replacement, rotation, tread depth checks, etc.
• Performs inspection, troubleshooting, and basic repairs on diesel and non-diesel equipment and vehicles including chassis components, air brake systems, general engine work, suspension, and drive train.
• Coordinates with parts and inventory department for required parts and maintenance.
• Completes and submits required electronic documentation and reporting of all assigned repairs or service/inspections in a timely fashion via computer software/programs.
