Job summary

Transit Management of Alexandria (TMA) in Alexandria, VA is seeking a B Mechanic to perform journeyman level repairs, maintenance, and modification on DASH vehicles and related equipment. You will read diagnostics, repair procedures, and apply knowledge to repair tasks, testing vehicles after service.

The role requires use of laptops and maintenance software to manage work-orders, with shifts on the second or third lines. Prior diesel experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years of vehicle maintenance or mechanic experience.
• CDL permit or CDL Class B with endorsements preferred.
• Background check and pre-employment drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Performs Preventative Maintenance inspections on all DASH vehicles.
• Diagnoses and repairs unscheduled issues, tests repaired vehicles.
• Requests parts and opens work-orders for repairs/services.
• Test drives vehicles to verify proper operation after repairs.
• Reads manuals and wiring schematics; follows OEM procedures.
• Maintains clean, organized work area and assists others as needed.
