Job summary

Transit Management of Alexandria (TMA) seeks a C Mechanic apprentice to perform basic repairs and maintenance on DASH fleet vehicles, following OEM procedures and using diagnostic software. You will test drive vehicles, record observations, and report findings to the Shop Supervisor.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED with at least one year of vehicle maintenance experience; technical school training is preferred.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is required.
Minimum of one year of vehicle maintenance or mechanic experience.
Two years or more of vehicle maintenance experience preferred.
Technical knowledge of transit vehicle maintenance is essential.

Responsibilities

Performs basic repairs and maintenance on DASH vehicles and equipment.
Performs Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMI) and tire work.
Inspects and repairs diesel and non-diesel equipment including chassis components and drive train.
Coordinates parts requests with inventory and documents repairs in electronic systems.
Assists other mechanics and Shop Supervisor and supports road/service calls as needed.
Serves fueling, charging, and steam cleaning of bus engine compartments.
