Job summary

Wayne County Public Schools seeks a Mechanic in the Maintenance Department to perform preventative maintenance on district vehicles and to repair lawn equipment throughout the county. The role supports the 12-month work year and reports to the Director and Assistant Director of Maintenance.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and related mechanical experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift at least 50 lbs. CDL is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; education/experience in mechanical work.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on WCPS vehicles.
• Repair lawn equipment and vehicles throughout the county.
• Order materials and maintain inventory for preventative maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
