Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Vehicle Performance Engineer - Energy Management & Aero-Thermal (EMAT) to support vehicle-level integration and program performance across EMAT attributes. This role works with EMAT teams and cross-functional partners to track performance, identify trade-offs, manage risks, and help achieve vehicle targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• 2+ years of experience in product development, vehicle development, or propulsion system development.
• Experience deriving or working with coast-down coefficients.
• Understanding of VDE sensitivities and vehicle-level performance trade-offs.
• Experience with fuel economy and/or VDE simulation tools.
• Experience with conventional and electrified powertrain systems.
• Experience conducting or analyzing fuel economy testing and test data.
• Knowledge of vehicle testing, including coast-down testing.
• Experience with competitive vehicle benchmarking and product futuring.
• Strong technical communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to analyze engineering data, identify performance gaps, and support technical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Support the EMAT Program Performance Lead with vehicle-level program performance activities.
• Serve as a key point of contact between EMAT engineering teams and cross-functional teams outside of EMAT.
• Support the creation, maintenance, and updates of the EMAT program scorecard.
• Provide technical status and updates for vehicle-level targets including fuel economy, weight, thermal, and aerodynamics.
• Develop and coordinate work requests for EMAT Science Teams.
• Review and analyze technical data and performance results from EMAT Science Teams.
• Collaborate to evaluate trade-offs involving VDE and driveability.
• Support risk mitigation planning and customer objective validation.
• Aid competitive benchmarking and future product performance assessments.
