Job summary

ACV Auctions in Abilene, TX seeks a diligent Vehicle Inspector to perform detailed condition assessments for in-lane and online vehicle processing. You will verify VINs, document damages, and take photos to support reports used in sales.

The role requires basic vehicle knowledge, computer proficiency, and the ability to work outside in various weather conditions. Prior repair cost estimating is a plus, and a valid driver’s license is needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to learn job-specific computer programs.
• Able to digitally photograph vehicles and upload photos to computer.
• Background in automotive repair cost estimating preferred.
• Basic knowledge of vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Verify vehicle identification.
• Identify and update vehicle information, including Year, Make, Model, Trim Lines.
• Inspect vehicle equipment, options, interior, tires, mechanical components.
• Document and estimate vehicle damages.
• Take photographs as needed to support and complete reports, or as necessary on sales days.
• Move vehicles throughout the lot and park them in designated areas if needed.
• Review and document odometer information.
• Assess frame condition and document damages to unibody and/or frame.
• Assess mechanical condition of vehicle, documenting issues found during the condition report process
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
