Objectives

This position is responsible for the brand and image of the DCT facility and equipment, as well as overall bus cleanliness.

The starting pay rate for this position is $18.98 per hour.

Job Standards

Qualifications include:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience;
• A valid Driver’s License, as well as an acceptable driving record;
• Successful completion of a post-offer medical examination, employment verification, criminal background check, and a drug and alcohol screening;
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements related to bus driving, traffic laws, defensive driving, and vehicle safety;
• Ability to operate a passenger bus, wheelchair lift, and computer;
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance measures for buses/vans;
• Knowledge of general facility upkeep procedures;
• Knowledge of blood-borne pathogen procedures and sanitation of bodily fluids;
• Ability to manage hazardous chemicals safely;
• Effective oral and written communication skills;
• Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions;
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and respond appropriately to situations;
• Flexibility to work afternoons and evenings, typically from noon to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Essential Functions

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Cleaning and sanitizing DCT vehicles and buses according to a routine schedule;
• Detailing buses to meet DCT’s brand standards;
• Reporting vehicle maintenance issues;
• Performing cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, window washing, and other custodial duties;
• Monitoring supplies for buses;
• Operating DCT-owned vehicles as needed;
• Restocking supplies in restrooms, breakrooms, and common areas;
• Maintaining the facility, including floors, windows, lighting, restrooms, appliances, and furniture;
• Managing trash disposal and recycling;
• Performing grounds work as needed.
