This position is responsible for the brand and image of the DCT facility and equipment, as well as overall bus cleanliness.
The starting pay rate for this position is $18.98 per hour.
Qualifications include:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience;
- A valid Driver’s License, as well as an acceptable driving record;
- Successful completion of post-offer medical examination and of previous employment verification and criminal background investigation; a post-offer drug and alcohol screen is also required.
- Knowledge of the federal, state and local requirements, methods, materials, tools, equipment, and standard practices of bus driving and of BMV traffic laws, defensive driving and vehicle safety;
- Ability to operate a passenger bus, wheelchair lift, and computer;
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance measures connected with buses/vans;
- Knowledge of general facility upkeep procedures and routines;
- Knowledge of blood-borne pathogen procedures and knowledge of sanitation of bodily fluids;
- Knowledge of and ability to manage hazardous chemicals;
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written;
- Ability to understand and carry-out oral and written instructions;
- Ability to work independently and respond to situations using sound judgment;
- Ability to work under pressure and to capably interact with co-workers, supervisors and other members of various departments and vendors; and ability to work afternoons and evenings, within the approximate hours of noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Cleaning and sanitizing DCT vehicles and buses by adhering to a routine cleaning schedule;
- Detail buses to a set standard as represented by DCT’s brand standards;
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues using the standards set out by DCT;
- Cleaning responsibilities include, but are not limited to, sweeping, mopping, dusting, detail cleaning, window washing, and other custodian-related assignments;
- Maintain regular checks on supplies for buses;
- Operate DCT-owned vehicles as needed;
- Stock supplies regularly in restrooms, breakroom, and other common areas;
- Cleans and maintains facility, including but not limited to floors, windows, lighting fixtures, restrooms, breakroom countertops, appliances, and office furniture;
- Responsible for overall facility trash disposal and recycling; and
- Grounds work as needed, including the facility and all assets.
