Join us as a Vegetation Management Inspector (1 Year) - TRAQ | Grass Valley at ACRT Pacific

Enjoy working outdoors? Interested in gaining forestry experience? ACRT Pacific is seeking energetic, entry-level professionals who enjoy outdoor work. This full-time role is ideal for candidates with backgrounds in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, biology, environmental studies, conservation, or related fields, aiming to expand their experience.

Our Vegetation Management Inspectors patrol for hazard trees, perform identification, inspection, and evaluation of trees and brush along utility lines, and assist in submitting inspection reports with recommendations. They also plan, direct, and coordinate activities of tree clearance crews, discuss access issues, and serve as liaisons between clients, crews, and customers.

Note: This position is safety-sensitive.

Requirements:

• Active TRAQ Certification
• High school diploma or GED
• Class C driver’s license
• One year of experience as a VMI or equivalent on utility contracts

Compensation & Benefits:

Potential sign-on bonus and retention incentives totaling $3000. You must reside or be willing to relocate within 50 miles of Grass Valley, CA. Lodging assistance is provided for out-of-state or distant applicants, covering hotel stays during the project.

Key Duties:

• Perform circuit patrols, identify and prescribe tree work, and document inspections.
• Notify property owners, obtain necessary permissions, and support emergency responses.
• Support vegetation projects, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain electronic documentation.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to operate forestry equipment and navigate rugged terrain.
• Strong communication, accountability, and adaptability skills.
• Proficiency with electronic devices and software.

• Reports to: Operations Manager
• Division/Department: Operations
• Base Salary: $41.70/hour + $10.42/hour in lieu of benefits, totaling $52.12/hour; union daily subsistence of $50 after 4 hours worked.
