Description:

Enjoy working outdoors? Would you like to gain experience in Forestry? ACRT Pacific is seeking energetic entry-level professionals for full-time roles as Vegetation Management Inspectors. Ideal candidates have backgrounds in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, biology, environmental studies, conservation, or related fields and are eager to gain practical experience.

Contingent upon client approval, Inspectors patrol for hazard trees, perform identification, inspection, and evaluation of trees and brush along utility lines, and assist in submitting inspection results with recommendations. They also plan, direct, and coordinate activities of tree clearance crews, discuss access issues, and serve as liaisons among clients, crews, and customers.

*Active TRAQ Certification required*

Compensation: Includes potential sign-on bonuses and retention incentives totaling $3,000.

Location: Must reside or be willing to relocate within 50 miles of Grass Valley, CA.

Lodging Assistance: For out-of-state or remote applicants, hotel accommodations are provided during the project duration.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Perform circuit patrols following VM plans and standards.
2. Identify required tree work along PG&E rights-of-way; document inspections.
3. Ensure inspections meet standards and scope requirements.
4. Notify property owners about upcoming work and obtain necessary permissions.
5. Act as a contact for new business and reconstruction work requests.
6. Verify work completion and quality through inspections.
7. Investigate outages related to trees and participate in outage meetings.
8. Track and notify customers for non-routine locations using assigned VM tags.
9. Support emergency responses and dispatch tree crews as needed.
10. Complete assigned tasks independently and support vegetation project oversight.
11. Participate in safety and tailboard meetings, and act as a customer relations representative.
12. Coordinate with contractors, communities, agencies, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
13. Ensure compliance with permits, regulations, and environmental measures.
14. Maintain proficiency with electronic devices and documentation tools.

Equipment, Environmental, and Safety Requirements:

• Operate vehicles and forestry equipment, walk on uneven ground, and work in various weather conditions.
• Use safety gear such as hard hats, vests, and glasses.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Class C driver’s license.
• At least 1 year of utility contract experience as a VMI or equivalent.
• *Active TRAQ Certification required*

• Ability to identify local trees and read maps.
• Comfortable working in rugged terrain and inclement weather.
