Description:

This full-time role is ideal for candidates with backgrounds in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, biology, environmental studies, conservation, or related fields, aiming to gain practical experience.

As a Vegetation Management Inspector, your duties include patrolling for hazard trees, performing identification, inspection, and evaluation of trees and brush along utility lines, submitting inspection results, planning and coordinating tree clearance activities, and liaising with clients and crews.

Note: This position is safety-sensitive.

• Active TRAQ Certification required

Compensation: May include a sign-on bonus and retention incentives totaling $3000.00.

Location: Must reside or be willing to relocate within 50 miles of Grass Valley, CA.
Lodging assistance is provided for out-of-state or distant applicants, covering hotel accommodations during the project.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform circuit patrols according to VM plan and standards.
• Identify and prescribe tree work along PG&E rights-of-way, document inspections.
• Notify property owners, obtain necessary permissions, and act as a contact for new and reconstruction work.
• Verify work completion and quality, investigate outages, and attend outage meetings.
• Handle VM tags, track work, and support emergency responses as directed.
• Complete tasks independently, support vegetation projects, participate in safety meetings, and act as a customer liaison.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant permits and regulations, proficiently use electronic documentation tools.

Basic Responsibilities:

• Patrol circuits, prescribe work, and ensure compliance for at least one year.
• Assess trees for hazards, notify property owners, manage notifications and cases, and perform outage investigations.
• Use computers and mobile devices for data entry and reporting.
• Support emergency responses and maintain communication with PG&E personnel and stakeholders.
• Follow safety and environmental protocols, including operation of forestry equipment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Class C driver’s license.
• One year of utility-related VMI experience.
• Active TRAQ Certification.
• Willing to relocate within 50 miles of Grass Valley, CA.
