Description:

Enjoy working outdoors? Would you like to gain experience in Forestry? ACRT Pacific is seeking energetic entry-level professionals for a full-time Vegetation Management Inspector role. Ideal candidates have backgrounds in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, biology, environmental studies, conservation, or related fields, and are eager to gain practical experience.

Contingent upon client approval, duties include patrolling for hazard trees, inspecting and evaluating trees along utility lines, and submitting reports with recommendations. The role also involves planning, coordinating activities of tree clearance crews, and liaising with clients, crews, and customers.

Note: This is a safety-sensitive position.

Active TRAQ Certification required

Compensation:

Includes potential sign-on bonus and retention incentives totaling $3,000.

Residency: Must reside or be willing to relocate within 50 miles of Grass Valley, CA.

Lodging Assistance:

For out-of-state or remote applicants, hotel accommodations are provided during the project duration.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Perform circuit patrols according to VM plans and standards.
  2. Identify and prescribe tree work along PG&E rights-of-way, document inspections.
  3. Ensure inspections meet applicable standards and standards.
  4. Notify property owners and obtain necessary permissions for tree work.
  5. Act as VM contact for new and reconstruction work.
  6. Perform work verification inspections and document findings.
  7. Investigate outages related to trees and participate in outage meetings.
  8. Manage VM tags, perform tracking, field checks, and customer notifications.
  9. Support emergency responses and dispatch tree crews as needed.
  10. Complete assigned tasks independently and support vegetation project oversight.
  11. Participate in safety meetings and act as a customer relations representative.
  12. Coordinate with contractors, agencies, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
  13. Ensure compliance with permits, environmental measures, and safety regulations.
  14. Proficiently use electronic devices for documentation and reporting.
Equipment, Environmental, and Safety Requirements:
  • Operate vehicles and equipment, walk on uneven ground, work in various environmental conditions.
  • Use forestry tools and safety gear, and adhere to safety protocols.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid Class C driver’s license.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a VMI or similar role.
  • Active TRAQ Certification.

Additional requirements include the ability to identify local trees, operate software, work in rugged terrain, read maps, and demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills. Candidates should be dependable, adaptable, and possess a positive attitude.

Base Pay: $41.70/hr, with additional incentives and allowances as detailed.
