DJ's Landscape Management is seeking a Vegetation Control Technician to manage vegetation control for our commercial clients and maintain landscapes to high standards. Certification in Core and Category 6 is required to perform weed-spraying duties safely.

This is a year-round, full-time position that transitions into winter snow and ice management. Competitive hourly pay with benefits, plus ongoing training and career advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• Certification in Core and Category 6 (Right-of-Way and Weed Control) is required.
• Able to walk long periods and carry a backpack sprayer up to 50 pounds.
• Read and follow pesticide labels and apply pesticides per label rates.
• Read maps/directions from mobile device or hard copy.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license or ability to obtain one.

Job description

We are seeking a Vegetation Control Technician to join our team. This role involves managing vegetation control for our commercial clients, ensuring landscapes are maintained to the highest standards. The ideal candidate must be certified in Core and Category 6 (Right-of-Way and Weed Control) to perform weed spraying duties effectively and safely. This is a year round, full time position that transitions into snow and ice management in the winter.

Requirements

• The ability to walk for long periods of time
• Able to carry a backpack sprayer weighing up to 50 pounds
• The capacity to work independently or with a lawn care crew
• The ability to identify common weeds of Michigan
• The ability to operate and care for assigned equipment
• Skill in reading map directions from a mobile device or hard copy
• Desire to work daily at the highest level of professionalism, quality, and performance
• Desire to work with a team to accomplish goals
• Ability to bend, squat, and lift for long periods of time
• Able to work outdoors in a wide variety of conditions for an extended period of time.
