Job summary

ENS Solutions, LLC seeks a VDI Engineer to design, implement, and secure Citrix Xen Desktop and NetScaler in a DoD/IC environment. The role includes Azure Virtual Desktop, on‑prem, cloud and hybrid architectures, and collaboration with government stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has TS/SCI clearance with CI poly willingness, 6+ years with a Bachelor's, or 8+ with an Associate, and hands‑on experience with Windows 10/11 SOE, RDS, AVD deployment, Citrix products, and scripting in PowerShell or

Qualifications

• Requires strong background in designing, deploying and maintaining VDI infrastructure for large Enterprise environments.
• Must have TS/SCI clearance and willingness to CI poly
• Experience with Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp, NetScaler, and related management tools
• Knowledge of Azure Virtual Desktop, on-prem and hybrid deployments
• Proficient in PowerShell or Python scripting for automation— troubleshooting and RCA

Responsibilities

• Engineer, test, implement, and maintain Citrix Xen Desktop and NetScaler solutions.
• Design and support Azure Virtual Desktop and hybrid infrastructure.
• Interact with Government stakeholders on technical issues and solutions.
• Aim for ATO readiness by tuning and securing VDI management software.
• Provide Tier 3+ support, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for VDI projects.

Job description

Role

As a VDI Engineer supporting the Government, you will be trusted to engineer new and improved enhancements for existing and emerging virtual desktop technologies. In this role, a typical day will include:

• Engineering, designing, testing, implementing, maintaining, securing, and managing the full life cycle of the complex Citrix Xen Desktop and NetScaler solutions deployed in the large Enterprise environment
• Designing and supporting Microsoft infrastructure solutions, including Azure Virtual Desktop, on-prem, cloud and hybrid
• Interacting with Government stakeholders regarding technical considerations for problems, issues, or conflicts
• Engineering, implementing, mitigating, monitoring, and tuning VDI environment and management software to obtain Authorize to Operate (ATO) for new VDI solutions
• Managing Citrix products (Virtual Apps, Virtual Desktops, ADC, Provisioning)
• Operating and executing scripting skills in PowerShell or Python
• Providing Tier 3 and above support as needed (troubleshooting, problem resolution support, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA))
• Preparing and maintaining documentation for VDI solutions, processes, and procedures related to engineering projects

Requirements

• Must have High School Diploma and 10+ years of experience or Associate's degree and 8+ years of experience or Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience
• Must have an Active TS/SCI ; willing to obtain a CI Poly
• Experience performing engineering work associated with the design, development, maintenance, and testing of infrastructure for desktop application packaging and deployment technologies
• Knowledge of Citrix XenApp, AppLayering, and/or Enterprise Layer Manager (ELM)
• Hands‑on experience with SQL Clustering Failover
• Knowledge of cloud, networking, and enterprise architectures
• Expertise in the Windows 10/11 – Standard Operating Environment (SOE), imaging, evergreen, etc.
• Experience with Remote Desktop Service (RDS) on Windows Server 2019/2022
• Ability to deploy Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) on Windows Server 2019/2022

Required Certification

• CWS-215: Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 7 Administration On-Premises and in Citrix Cloud

Preferred Certification(s)

• Managing Modern Desktops (MD-101)
