Job summary

Interstates is seeking a VDC Team Lead to drive complex design and construction integrations, including data center work. You will guide project execution, constructability, and cross-functional collaboration with clients, PMs, engineers, and subcontractors to optimize outcomes.

The role requires advanced BIM/CAD skills, 7–15 years of VDC/PM experience, and the ability to mentor staff while traveling up to 35% of the time.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or an associate degree in Engineering Technology, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• 7–15 years of experience in virtual design and construction, project management, or similar roles, preferably in electrical industry.
• Advanced BIM and CAD software skills with success leading teams in a virtual design environment.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex projects by establishing conceptual direction, VDC execution strategies, and project schedules.
• Manage design and coordination schedules across multiple projects with clear milestone dates.
• Mentor design staff and delegate tasks to ensure timely delivery.
• Troubleshoot design, coordination, and installation issues with the team to implement solutions.
• Build relationships with field leaders and coach on technical and project leadership best practices.
• Coordinate with clients, project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and manufacturing teams for efficient delivery.
