Job summary

Interstates is seeking a VDC Team Lead to drive complex design-build projects, with strong BIM/CAD and project leadership capabilities. You will coordinate multi-discipline teams, manage schedules, and ensure constructability from design through construction.

The role requires 7–15 years in VDC/PM, travel up to 35%, and a background in electrical/industrial settings. You’ll mentor staff, develop standards, and collaborate across stakeholders to optimize outcomes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering Technology, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
7–15 years of experience in virtual design and construction, project management, or similar role.
Advanced BIM and CAD tools experience with leadership in a virtual design environment.

Responsibilities

Lead complex projects by establishing conceptual direction, VDC execution strategies, and project schedules.
Manage design and coordination schedules across multiple projects, balancing priorities and setting milestones.
Mentor design staff and coach on technical and project leadership best practices.
Coordinate with clients, PMs, engineers, subcontractors, and manufacturing for efficient delivery.
