Job summary

Fortis Construction, Inc. seeks a Sr. Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) Manager to steer VDC strategy across units from preconstruction to closeout.

You will lead a team of VDC professionals, set standards, and drive innovation in VDC processes. You will partner with operations, preconstruction, and IT to align VDC with business goals. The role requires broad cross-discipline knowledge and strong leadership in a complex project environment, with significant travel and involvement across design

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of progressive VDC or construction technology experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management, or related degree program, or equivalent work experience.
• Advanced knowledge of VDC workflows.
• Extensive knowledge of VDC platforms and technology.
• Demonstrated experience leading VDC strategy on complex construction projects.
• Experience leading and developing teams.
• Strong communication and executive presentation skills.
• Experience working across multiple project delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design/Build, CM/GC, etc).
• Ability to think strategically while maintaining operational awareness.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a clear VDC vision aligned with Fortis’s objectives.
• Establish consistent VDC standards, workflows, and best practices.
• Lead and develop VDC managers, coordinators, and technicians.
• Oversee VDC budgets and align investments with measurable value.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across projects.
• Collaborate with Operations Technology, Data, and IT teams to align strategy.
• Ensure VDC scope and strategy are defined early in preconstruction.
