Job summary

iENG Design is seeking a Design Support Specialist to join the Design Operations team at our Raleigh, NC headquarters. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of project management or design experience within mechanical construction, coordinating resources and schedules across VDC, engineering, and commissioning teams.

Responsibilities include project setup, work plans, and meetings with clients and internal teams, while proactively identifying risks and ensuring on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in project management, VDC, or engineering within the mechanical construction industry.
• Working knowledge of mechanical systems, MEP design workflows, and construction document sets.
• Experience with project management tools and BIM/VDC environments.
• Willing to travel on an as-needed basis.
• Ability to interpret and identify potential problems or risks and come up with creative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project setup, documentation management, schedule coordination, and meeting preparation.
• Prepare and maintain detailed project work plans, including task assignments and due dates for internal teams.
• Schedule and facilitate meetings with the project teams to determine fabrication plans prior to spooling and detailing.
• Coordinate with VDC, engineering, and commissioning teams to develop project schedules, assign tasks, and monitor progress against project milestones.
• Manage third-party resources, to ensure alignment with project scope, schedule, and execution strategy.
• Facilitate project design meetings, design reviews, and coordination meetings with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
• Manage iENG project documentation including scope deliverables and design logs.
• Proactively identify project risks.
