Job summary

Power Design seeks a VDC Design Manager to lead the virtual design and coordination process for assigned construction projects. You will manage BIM deliverables, installation planning, and constructability reviews while ensuring compliance with codes and Power Design best practices.

You will work closely with operations teams, customers, consultants, engineers, and trade partners to develop innovative, cost-effective and constructible solutions that support successful project execution.

Qualifications

• Associate's or bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 5+ years in construction, VDC, BIM modeling, or coordination within mechanical/plumbing systems.
• Strong knowledge of codes, standards, installation methods, and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the VDC coordination process from preconstruction through design completion.
• Manage project schedules, deliverables, and VDC timelines to meet milestones.
• Lead coordination meetings and clash detection, resolving design conflicts.
• Review plans, BIM Execution Plans, contracts, and codes for compliant installations.
• Develop and maintain BIM models, coordination drawings, and installation docs.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and field teams for constructability reviews.
• Provide value engineering recommendations while upholding quality standards.
• Maintain project documentation including RFIs, ASIs, and addenda.
• Monitor budgets, schedules, and production goals for high-quality deliverables.
• Guide and support VDC team members and stakeholders.
• Represent Power Design in project meetings and coordination activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of VDC processes and technologies.
