Job summary

Power Design Inc. in Saint Petersburg, FL seeks a VDC Design Manager to lead the virtual design and coordination for assigned projects, manage BIM deliverables, and drive clash detection and constructability reviews.

You will collaborate with operations, engineering, and field teams to develop cost-effective installations while ensuring code compliance and alignment with Power Design best practices. This role emphasizes leadership and precision.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in construction, VDC, BIM modeling, detailing, coordination, design, or installation within Mechanical or Plumbing systems.
• Strong understanding of codes, standards, installation methods, and construction best practices.
• Proficiency with Revit and working knowledge of AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and other BIM technologies.
• Ability to lead project coordination, facilitate conflict resolution, and drive project outcomes.
• Strong communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the VDC coordination process for projects from preconstruction through design completion.
• Manage project coordination schedules, deliverables, and BIM timelines.
• Lead coordination meetings and clash detection efforts; resolve design and constructability conflicts.
• Review plans, specifications, BIM Execution Plans, and contracts for code-compliant installations.
• Develop, review, and maintain BIM models, coordination drawings, shop drawings, and installation documentation.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and field teams to support constructability reviews and installation planning.
• Provide guidance and support to VDC team members and project stakeholders.
