Job summary

Thomasmechanical seeks a Mechanical/HVAC VDC Specialist to bridge the gap between technical modeling and on-site systems. You will work independently with project managers, engineers, and superintendents to deliver high-quality coordination and fabrication drawings throughout the project lifecycle.

The role focuses on BIM modeling in Revit, clash detection in Navisworks, and production of spool drawings for ductwork and piping. Travel to Upstate South Carolina sites is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Revit (mechanical/HVAC) modeling for 3D coordination.
• Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specs.
• Experience with clash detection and model management.
• Effective communication with engineers, trade partners and field staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D BIM models for HVAC systems including ductwork and piping.
• Produce fabrication/spool drawings to support off-site fabrication.
• Conduct constructability and QA/QC checks on models and drawings.
• Assist with field verification using laser scans and point cloud data.
