Job summary

MYCO Mechanical, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented VDC HVAC Duct Detailer to model duct systems in Revit for commercial projects, emphasizing fabrication-ready details.

You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to resolve clashes, produce shop drawings, and support coordination and installation.

Strong communication and knowledge of Smacna standards are a plus, and you will contribute to improving constructability and project success.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in ductwork detailing, BIM modeling, or VDC.
• Proficiency in understanding ductwork routing practices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings: MEP, Structural, Architectural, and Civil)
• Ability to read and interpret specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret submittal documents.
• Strong understanding of commercial ductwork systems and installation practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Revit to model HVAC duct systems with fabrication content to proper duct practices to meet project specifications and current Smacna.
• Review project drawings and specifications and utilize them for modeling shop drawings.
• Create and maintain detailed 3D HVAC duct models using Revit and other BIM software.
• Review submittals and model duct systems with required service clearances, connection distances and electrical clearances
• Produce coordination drawings, installation drawings, and fabrication spool sheets.
• Participate in multidisciplinary BIM coordination meetings.
• Identify and resolve clashes with mechanical, electrical, fire protection, structural, and architectural systems.
• Generate hanger layouts, sleeve drawings, penetration drawings, and field layout information.
• Incorporate design revisions, RFIs, and field changes into project models.
• Work closely with project management and field teams to improve constructability and installation efficiency.
• Conduct quality control reviews to ensure model accuracy and adherence to company standards.
