Job summary

PCL Construction, Inc. in San Diego, CA seeks a VDC Engineer to lead model coordination for complex civil projects. You’ll work with field teams, designers, engineers and trade partners to identify clashes, improve constructability and drive resolution.

Experience with piping, utilities and concrete coordination is a strong asset. The role uses Revit, Civil 3D, ACC Model Coordination and Navisworks to translate models into constructible field information.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in buildings industry-related discipline (AEC, civil, architectural).
• 5 to 7 years of construction-related experience including 2 to 3 years of VDC experience.
• Strong understanding of construction sequences and technology.
• Ability to manage project models and BIM execution plans.
• Ability to read 2D/3D drawings and translate into a 3D/4D BIM.

Responsibilities

• Lead model coordination for complex, multi-trade civil projects.
• Collaborate with field teams, designers, engineers and trade partners.
• Identify clashes, improve constructability and drive issue resolution.
• Translate models into field-ready information and update VDC models.
• Develop and manage BIM execution plans and shop/fab models.
