Job summary

PCL Construction, Inc. is seeking a VDC Engineer in Arizona to develop and validate virtual models from plans and specifications. You will coordinate with the project team on logistics models and trade partner deliverables, ensuring BIM standards are met across disciplines.

The role emphasizes collaboration, continuous improvement, and adoption of cutting-edge VDC tools. A strong background in 3D/BIM and 4D planning is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, diploma, or 2-year certificate in a buildings-industry related discipline (AEC, civil, architectural).
• 2–4 years of construction-related experience, including 1–2 years in VDC/ BIM related work.
• Ability to read and interpret 2D/3D drawings and translate to BIM models.
• Proficient in 3D modeling software and able to create content in VDC tools.
• Familiarity with 4D scheduling and planning tools.

Responsibilities

• Builds, reviews, or validates virtual models from plans, specifications, and elevations.
• Collaborates on development of construction-site logistics models.
• Supervises trade detailing and design deliverables coordination.
• Participates in reviews of VDC tools within project scopes during pursuit stage.
• Works with estimating on model compliance checking and BIM execution plan reviews.
• Facilitates trade partner model coordination and reports to project management.
• Keeps multidiscipline construction models current and adheres to standards.
• Coordinates kickoff meetings at project start-up.
• Creates and coordinates RFIs with project team.
• Promotes use of virtual construction tools across project staff.
• Shares new technologies to drive adoption of PCL technologies.
