At PCL Construction, Inc. in San Diego, CA, a VDC Engineer leads model coordination for complex civil projects using Revit, Civil 3D, ACC, and Navisworks to identify clashes and improve constructability.

You will collaborate with field teams, designers, engineers and trade partners, translating models into actionable information for the field. Experience with process piping, underground utilities and concrete coordination is a strong asset.

Formación

• Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in a buildings industry-related discipline (e.g., architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC), civil, architectural).
• 5 to 7 years of construction-related experience including 2 to 3 years of Virtual Design and Construction-related experience.
• Strong understanding of construction sequences.
• Awareness of and some involvement in implementing construction technology.
• Ability to provide project model management.
• Knowledge of the building construction process and the various building components involved at each stage of construction.
• Ability to ensure the quality of virtual design and construction models from design and trade partners.
• Understanding of trade detailing and design workflows.
• Ability to read and understand 2D and 3D construction drawings and specifications and translate 2D drawings and specifications into a complete 3D/4D Building Information Model.
• Intermediate knowledge in 3D modeling software and training and ability to create content in VDC software.
• Ability to provide input into Building Information Model (BIM) execution plan.
• Ability to read and understand the construction model and scope to create and apply a VDC schedule.
• Ability to create and communicate markups to construction drawings.

Responsabilidades

• Ensures multidiscipline construction technologies are current and standards are followed.
• Collaborates on development of construction-site logistics models.
• Coordinates and manages trade detailing and design deliverables.
• Liaises between design teams and construction teams.
• Reviews scopes during pursuit to incorporate VDC tools and processes.
• Participates in scoping design deliverables and trade detailing requirements.
• Collaborates with design and trade partners to support project documentation.
• Reviews BIM language and execution plan with management.
• Establishes trade partner model coordination process and handover to project teams.
• Keeps multidiscipline models current and aligned with standards.
• Creates and coordinates RFIs with the project team.
• Recognizes opportunities to leverage integrated construction technology.
