Job summary

Tommy's is seeking a skilled VDC Coordinator to turn AE prototype car wash designs into production-ready shop drawings, assembly models and material schedules, working with the Project Development Team to refine building systems through every model release.

The role emphasizes experience with Autodesk Revit / Inventor and BIM for commercial metal building systems, with strong problem-solving, communication and teamwork supporting a fast-paced, growth-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or equivalent formal training and experience.
• 2+ years’ experience using Autodesk Revit or similar on related AE projects.
• Experience with commercial metal building systems.
• Experience with BIM and prefabrication for construction is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D building models, shop drawings and detail packages using Revit, Inventor and/or other software.
• Assist in prototype building design maintenance process, model year release process.
• Attend weekly prototype design meetings to coordinate with AE consultants.
• Create building design update bulletins explaining AE rolling changes in between model year releases.
• Provide technical support on building design to Project Development Team: Pre-Construction PM’s, Project Managers, Project Coordinators.
• Prepare material schedules and detailed bills of materials for internal procurement and manufacturing direction.
• Study building product specifications, determine optimal products for application and properly apply to building designs.
• Vet building material products & suppliers for cost and function.
• Assist in building design workflow improvements; communicate with internal departments.
• Work in a team with management, sales, and manufacturing; provide customer service.
